Growing up in Fort Collins RJ Hutch has been involved in music for the majority of his life. Beginning his musical career by playing the violin as a kid, RJ Hutch later transitioned to rapping around the time he entered high school. As a former football, basketball, and baseball athlete many of his rhymes originate from the sports that he loves playing and watching. RJ Hutch has a wide verity of music from slow songs that will get you in your feelings to songs that will pump you up and make you feel good. Released in 2018, this was RJ Hutch’s first official song created and his first release on SoundCloud and only current release on Apple Music. The song features Lil Rolli a life long friend of RJ-Hutch. When they were in high school at Rocky Mountain in Fort Collins Colorado, they created this song in their parents basement one day and discovered a hidden passion. At the time they didn’t know they would be making RJ-Hutch’s most streamed song.
“Feelin’” demonstrates RJ-Hutch’s ability to rap and to write smooth flowing lyrics. RJ Hutch raps “Police always be catching all the evil, heres some food for thought boy you can feed your people. In the first verse RJ Hutch raps, “She like to show love, got me actin’ so dumb, she got me so numb, she got me in my feelins like shes my dope got me high as the cieling.” As one of RJ Hutch’s slower songs “Of You” demonstrates the versatility of his flow on slower tempo songs.
Released in 2019, at it’s core “BROADVIEW PLACE” is a feel good song. The upbeat tempo and cheeky rhymes will have you listening to this song anytime you want to get pumped up. “BROADVIEW PLACE” is full of NBA related lyrics such as, “Me and this beat make a real good combo just like Paul Pierce and Rajon Rando. 3-4 on the back you know i’m the truth, spittin’ so hard that I just lost a tooth.” This song is a great example of the clever lyrics RJ Hutch comes up with while having fun perfecting his craft.
